Obstacle Relay
The final event of the 68th World Military Pentathlon Championship was the Obstacle Relay, contested over a 500-metre obstacle course. The relay is run as a knockout competition, with four athletes starting for each men’s team and three athletes for each women’s team. Each athlete has to complete the demanding obstacle course as quickly as possible before handing over to the next team member. Speed, technical precision and teamwork are crucial, as even the smallest mistake can decide the outcome of a race.
The women’s final was particularly close. Denmark claimed the gold medal, followed by Brazil with silver and China with bronze. The race was decided by only a few hundredths of a second, making for a thrilling finish and a fitting finale to the women’s competition.
In the men’s competition, Algeria secured the world title with a winning time of 1:48.20 minutes. Türkiye finished second in 1:48.38, while Austria celebrated a bronze medal after a spectacular day of competition.
