Philipp Ségur-Cabanac was born on 19. June 1975 in Vienna.
He comes from a family with a long military tradition. His father (Christian Ségur-Cabanac, Lieutenant General, Ret.), his uncle (René Ségur-Cabanac, Major General, Ret.) and his deceased grandfather (August Ségur-Cabanac, General, Ret.) served in the Austrian Armed Forces. The family originally comes from France. The Austrian line was founded by Count August Ségur-Cabanac (1771–1847), who found refuge in Austria during the French Revolution. He rose to major general in the Austrian Imperial Army.
