The current colour is the fifth one in the 250-years of the Theresan Military Academy.
This colour was donated by the former federal minister of defence, Mr. Günther Platter. It has been handed over to the Theresan Military Academy on September 9, 2006.
The obverse-side of the flag shows the coat of arms of the federal republic of Austria. On the reverse-side, there is the (former) badge of the Theresan Military Academy showing the cross of the Military Order of Maria Theresa and the date "1752". Above the badge, "MT" as the initial of Maria Theresia. The badge is surrounded by a golden ribbon. The motto of the Theresan Military Academy: "Treu bis in den Tod" (Loyal until death) is written on this ribbon.
